McCampbell Inn



McCampbell Inn located in downtown Lexington's Historic District was originally built by John McCampbell in 1809. John McCampbell built the center section as his home later it was expanded and lastly served as the Central Hotel. Now the gracious McCampbell Inn offers guests the choice of 14 individual rooms and two suites. Each is carefully furnished and includes wet bars and all modern conveniences.





In 1858, Stonewall Jackson purchased a house at 8 East Washington Street, around the corner from our McCambell Inn. He passed by McCambell every day from 1858 to 1861 on his way to teach at V.M.I. Today he might march his cadets the six miles out to Maple Hall for a nature study.
